If you’re thinking about purchasing a Jeep, you might be wondering what sort of warranty coverage is included. All cars need repairs and maintenance from time to time, and comprehensive warranty coverage can save you a lot of money over the life of your car. Let’s take a look at what a typical Jeep warranty comes with in Dickinson, ND.

Basic Limited Warranty

Also called the bumper-to-bumper warranty, this will cover parts and labor for any necessary repairs due to defective parts or materials corresponding to factory production or workmanship, at no charge to you. The warranty lasts for 3 years from the date of purchase or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. It also includes Jeep roadside assistance for towing your car to a dealership should that be required.

There are a few restrictions, and some things are not covered by this warranty. These include unwired headphones, tire issues or blow-outs, and any custom accessories, parts, or items not original to the factory vehicle.

Powertrain Limited Warranty

This warranty covers your Jeep’s powertrain for 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. It covers the cost of any parts and labor for repairs to the engine, transmission, axle, and transaxle components for front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, and four-wheel drive Jeeps.

The powertrain warranty does not cover items such as scheduled lubrication and tune-ups, wiper blades, filters, bulbs, coolant, and brake pads.

Corrosion Limited Warranty

The corrosion warranty covers the cost of repairs and replacement due to rust, holes, or other corrosion in your car’s metal panels. It is divided into two categories: one that covers most sheet metal panels, which is good for 3 years and unlimited miles, and another that refers to the car’s outer metal panels, which is good for 5 years and unlimited miles.

Emissions Limited Warranty

The Federal Emissions warranty lasts for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. It corresponds to parts that manage your car’s emissions, such as the fuel injection system, air system controls, exhaust manifold, and oxygen sensors.

Certain emissions parts are covered for 8 years or 80,000 miles. These include the catalytic converter, powertrain control module, 48-volt power pack unit, and belt-driven hybrid starter generator.

MOPAR Limited Warranty

The MOPAR warranty covers certain additional parts that are not covered by the basic limited warranty. There are different time and mileage restrictions for each of these, for example, some are only covered for one year or 12,000 miles. Parts covered by the MOPAR warranty include batteries, alternators, water pumps, mufflers, shocks and struts, brake pads, gaskets, and seals.

This extensive warranty coverage should provide you with solid peace of mind as you consider purchasing your next Jeep.
